Thanks to my dear friend Jackie Larkin, who does alot of training for unions, I have discovered a fascinating theory of leadership that seems to reflect some of what I 've learned over the years. It's called
Theory 'U' -- Otto Scharmer. I've ordered the book but you can check out alot of content on the web site and see what you think. We need to practice alternatives to patriarchal leadership but it's nice to see a theory like this that is so rooted in communication and relationship. Perhaps if we develop a new idea of leadership we won't have to resort to the strong man every time something goes wrong
