Review of Transforming Power
Judy, You asked me for my thoughts on your book. First, I have been highly and frequently recommending it to folks, so THAT tells you something right off the bat!! Additionally: I loved the honesty; the directness; the acknowledgement of the process of learning, of becoming aware. I have often said that if we took more time to understand and articulate our own paths to awareness we would have a much better insight into how we can help others make a similar journey to consciousness. On a more personal level it brought me back to my own path - quite different from yours in that I was from the early 70s influenced by Ivan Illich and Paulo Frerie and then the by liberation/process/feminist/creation centred theologies, so I was steeped in a wholistic, active spirituality and in a social analysis deeply rooted in the experiences of solidarity with Latin/Central Americans, South African and Namibians and of course the Philippines ... and then of course I went to live and work in Québec in 1987! Need I say more! Reading your book reminded me of the rich formation I had and of the incredible people who have lighted my path for so many years! Thanks!
